STEM is a movement that empowers, uplifts and encourages people around the world through true life stories of faith, deliverance and victory.
Twelve years ago, we were three actresses who came together with an idea of using our artistic talents to offer healing to women through laughter, transparency and tears. We stood on stage with no props, no gimmicks and no lies; naked in our pain and resolute in the faith that brought us to that moment. We were three women sharing stories that reminded others that they were not alone. If we could overcome… so could they. We created a commonality that is affectionately called STEM.
Twelve years later with the onslaught of social media and a 24hr virtual community, we found out that STEM not only continues to resonate with viewers but the need for the raw, soul-level connection that STEM offers is palpable. Innocently enough, one of the STEM monologues that featured a testimony about struggling with body image was shared on Facebook’s “Throw back Thursday” and the response was swift and overwhelming! The post received several hundred likes and shares. The comments flooded in ranging from gratitude that the issue was addressed in such a relatable way, to “Thank God! You gave a voice to what I have felt for years”. We all received several messages in our inboxes from people excited about a possible STEM revival, and newcomers asking when they could see more.
Twelve years from now, we will look back on 2015 and smile – thankful that we answered the clarion call of destiny and made STEM accessible to the masses; and grateful to have shared our past testimonies and commentary on life, love, challenges, and the faith that continued to bring us through. We will know that we used our talent to honor the call of every actor, which is to tell stories in excellence that engage the mind and affect the heart.
As part of our evolution and outreach, STEM will also be partnering with organizations to present live forums & workshops where various issues like Alzheimer’s, menopause, hair-robics, blended families, and more, will be discussed and solutions shared. There are thousands of tragedy to triumph stories that STEM is excited to help women share so that lives might be touched & healed around the world. #stemthemovement
